Phi Phi is a small archipelago of just six islands. Located at the mouth of Phang Nga Bay, between the southern tip of Phuket Island and the Krabi coast, it is one of the most visited destinations in southern Thailand. The six islands of the group are Koh Phi Phi Don, Koh Phi Phi Leh, Koh Pai (Bamboo Island), Koh Young (Mosquito Island), and two islets marking the southern end of the archipelago named Koh Bida Noi and Koh Bida Nai.
Out of the six islands, only Koh Phi Phi Don is inhabited (both Phi Phi Leh and Bamboo Island only house small National Park Ranger camps). The Phi Phi group of islands is served twice daily by ferries coming from Phuket and Krabi (morning and afternoon). It can also be visited on daytrips by speedboat. The popularity of the archipelago makes it pretty crowded during high season, yet its remoteness makes it a great destination to those looking for a drastic change of scene.
