Aroy Kaffeine Café & Guesthouse is a hidden gem which should be on the bucket-list of every curious gastronome visiting Phi Phi Island. Located at the backside of Loh Bagao, in a small village settled in the north of Phi Phi, it offers a rather unique place to dine on the island.
Settled at the foot of a bridge that somehow resembles the famous Golden Gate in San Francisco - at a smaller scale, the restaurant and its terrace shaded by a pergola faces a small mangrove forest that occupies the central part of the island between Loh Bagao (east), and Loh Lana (west).
The décor of Aroy Kaffeine harmoniously blends a modern cement structure with vintage old west-style wooden walls and furnishing, making it look a bit like a Texas saloon in the middle of a tropical scenery. The atmosphere of the café is really cool, thanks to the owner, Khun Jah, and her team, who speak good English and do their best to make you feel at home.
Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Aroy Kaffeine serves a good choice of Thai and international dishes such as chicken satay (145 baht), red curry prawns (180 baht), chicken tortilla (260 baht), premium beef burger (240 baht), and chocolate chips banana pancake (195 baht), just to name a few. The venue features an impressive drink-list and is especially famous for both its smoothies and caffeine-related drinks. With over 17 cocktails (standard and signature) available, plus all the usual suspects in matter of spirits, as well as a decent wine-list featuring old and new world labels, plus a good choice of imported German and Belgian beers, Aroy Kaffeine is the perfect venue to have a sundowner or a night cap with friends in this area of Phi Phi.
